By becoming a member of the St Helens Recycling Rewards scheme you are becoming a member of Green Rewards, who run our Member Scheme. This is operated by Green Leaning Limited trading as Green Rewards. By becoming a Member of Green Rewards you accept the terms and conditions as set out below.
Joining Green Rewards
You can apply to join as a Member of Green Rewards by completing the online registration. By applying to become a member you accept these rules.
Members must be over 18 and have a valid email address for an online account. We will use the contact details from your registration to communicate with you and you are responsible for keeping your personal information up to date. An Account cannot be in joint names. Multiple Accounts cannot be pooled or Points transferred to another Account.
We may refuse membership application for any good reason.
Once the registration process is completed we will set up a Green Rewards Account in your name and your email address will be your unique identifier for online accounts. We will record on your Account any Points you earn.
Green Rewards Member Rules
These Rules (including our Policy on Privacy and Data Protection) govern the collection and use of Points and other aspects of our programme and set out the terms of the contract between Green Leaning Limited trading as Green Rewards ("us/we") and each Member ("you").
Partners (such as 'Local Green Points' or 'Recycling Rewards' schemes) determine the particular transactions on which Points can be earned and the number of Points to be earned. We will credit Points to your Account when one of our Partners tells us you have undertaken a relevant transaction with them, or that it has awarded a number of Points to you. Partners will take different periods to notify us of Points to be credited and we are not responsible for any failure, delay or error by a Partner notifying us of Points to be credited. If a transaction on which Points are issued is cancelled, reversed or not completed, we will reverse the associated Points movement when instructed by the relevant Partner. Local Green Points LLP, a Partner of Green Rewards, is itself reliant on the regularity and quality of service and information provided to it by local authorities to determine the value of Points awarded for waste and recycling, and neither we nor Local Green Points LLP is liable for any failure in calculating allocations of Points as a result of information not being provided in a timely and accurate manner by local authorities.
Transactions on which you earn Points are made directly with the relevant Partner and we have no responsibility for the delivery, standard, quality or otherwise of any goods or services received or supplied.
Prizes and prize draws
Individual rewards can only be won once every 6 months. If the top performing individual has won an individual reward within the last 6 months then the reward will go to the next eligible resident in ranked order. There is one winner and one runner up per ward per month.
Random Draws: every month a number of residents will be picked at random to receive an additional reward. These residents are picked at random using an electronic random number generator.
Retail Partner Offers
Members living within a scheme defined area are eligible for discounts and other special offers provided by Green Rewards’ Retail Partners. These offers are publicised on the scheme website and qualifying Members will need to present their Activation Card to Retail Partners to take up any offers. Green Rewards reserves the right to amend and withdraw Retail Partner offers publicised via the scheme website at any time. All Retail Partner offers are subject to availability and transactions on which offers are used are made directly with the relevant Retail Partner and we have no responsibility for the delivery, standard, quality or otherwise of any goods and services received or supplied or the failure of a Retail Partner to honour an offer or make a specific offer available.
Maintaining Your Account
You will receive regular updates regarding your Points balance, scheme progress and participation.You will also be able to see your latest Points balance, and details of Points earned and redeemed, in the "Account" section of our website. We will correct a Green Rewards Account if it is shown to our reasonable satisfaction to be wrong.
Points have no expiry date.
You may close your Green Rewards Account at any time by notifying us. Any Points balance will be lost when you close your Account.
In the event of the death of a Member we will transfer Points to another Green Rewards Account if adequate evidence of the deceased Member's legal representative's authority is given to us.
We may close your Green Rewards Account if you have not earned or redeemed any Points for a continuous period of at least 12 months, at which point your Points become null and void. We may also, on notifying you, immediately suspend or terminate your membership rights, and/or close your Green Rewards Account, if you breach these Rules; if we reasonably believe that you have dealt with Points in a manner not permitted by these Rules or any applicable Partner's terms and conditions; if we reasonably believe you have been involved in any theft from or misconduct in connection with us, any Partner or Supplier; if you supply false or misleading information to us or if you are abusive or offensive to any member of our staff.
Points can only be earned, held, transferred or redeemed as set out in these Rules. Any other use, award, sale, exchange or transfer of Points, or attempt to do so, is a serious breach of these Rules. Any Points not earned and held in accordance with these Rules will be invalid and cannot be redeemed for Rewards. Any such Points on a Green Rewards Account will be deducted and, if they are redeemed, we will ask the Supplier to cancel the relevant Rewards and we may take other appropriate action.
You are responsible for the security of your Green Rewards Account and the log in details used to access your online Account information. You should notify us immediately if you suspect that someone else knows your log in details so that we can suspend your Account pending issuance of new log in information. We will not be responsible if any of your Points are altered by someone else in possession of your log in details.
Through our Partners we may offer Postal Accounts and it will be at our absolute discretion which Rewards and Retail Partner Offers are made available to Members with Postal Accounts at any given time.
Collection and Use of Data
The information provided will be processed in accordance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998. It will be treated as confidential and used only for the purpose of scheme administration and future communications from St.Helens Council.
Our Policy on Privacy and Data Protection (which is incorporated into and forms part of these Rules) sets out the information that we will gather on you, how this information will be used and who it may be shared with. The Policy is available on our website. We will comply with our Privacy Statement. If you notify us that you do not wish to receive marketing information from us or be contacted by us for promotional purposes in connection with Green Rewards and/or by our Partners or Suppliers we will comply with such request and pass on any relevant request to our Partners and Suppliers. If for any reason we need to transfer personal information outside the European Union for a specific purpose, we will ensure that it is treated to UK standards.
If we sell or transfer Green Rewards to another company we may transfer all of our rights and obligations under these Rules without any further consent and may disclose or transfer all information we hold about you to a prospective or actual new owner. Such a disclosure or transfer will not alter your rights in respect of the use that can be made of your information by such other company.
We may make changes to these Rules and will give you as much notice as we reasonably can. Earning or redeeming Points on a Green Rewards Account after such a notification will constitute acceptance of the revised Rules.
We may suspend or terminate Green Rewards but will give you as much notice as we reasonably can before we do so. If this happens all Green Rewards Accounts will be suspended or terminated.
These Rules set out all of the terms of our contractual relationship with you and will prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency with any other communications, including advertising or promotional materials. These Rules are governed by English law.
We will only be liable to you if you suffer loss as a result of a breach by us of these Rules and, if so, our sole liability will be to credit your Account with any Points which have been wrongly deducted or should have been credited but were not. These Rules shall not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
